I created the S’AMUSE brand out of a desire to produce local fashion, as an alternative to mass consumption via the slow fashion ethic. My creative practice flows from the edges of Vermont’s capital city of Montpelier and the great green forests that carpet the hills behind my home. S’AMUSE combines function with ‘iconic’ form in its accessory line that references the monastic ‘chaperon’ or madonna/child ‘HOOD’ and the courageous Amelia Earhart’s bomber cap. Adventure, creative action, innovation and freedom are values that S’AMUSE cultivates.
S’AMUSER means to have fun in French. I grew up in bilingual Canada and often use french in my artwork. My mission is to encourage your dark and light muse to reflect with me at the seams of history, nature, popular culture and the avant-garde.
